Importance of Interactivity and Colorful Design for Kids to Learn English Language
DATE: 06/13/2008 14:21:53 / MOOD: teaching

One of the most important ways to learning and mastering the English Language is to read, read, and read.  It is said that a good reader is also a good writer and a good speaker.  One’s proficiency in English hinges a lot on his interest and patience in reading.  And so, it’s always best to instill in children the love for reading.  However, in today’s world, reading is something that most children dislike doing.  There are simply too many distractions that books, magazines, and newspapers are often ignored in favor of video games and movies.  And while video games and movies also play a role in helping the child learn the English language, they still can’t quite compare to reading.  And as a result, kids are learning less and less.

Colors and Pictures

There is, however, a solution.  Did you ever stop to think about why items like English for kids books are filled with color that it’s almost obscene such as in an English dictionary for kids?  Take a look at an elementary level text book and a college level text book.  You’ll notice that the book for the elementary students are filled with pictures and colors and large fonts while the book for college students is drab, boring, and almost devoid of pictures.  Those pictures and those colors in the elementary level text books aren’t there just for the sake of design.  There’s more to them than that, and the reason lies in the wirings of our brains.  Colors and Pictures make us more engaged in the act of learning grammar for kids.  They catch our attention and help us retain more of what we read.  This is especially true for little children who enjoy fun English for kids’ ways of learning the language.

Children are quite easily distracted.  When you ask them to sit down and read quietly, their minds will often wander and it won’t take long before you find them doodling and not doing what you told them to do.  But if a book is colorful enough to catch a kid’s attention, then you’ll have a better chance at getting the kid to sit down long enough to learn English for kids.

Interactivity and Games for Learning English

The same principle holds true for interactivity.  Like colors and pictures, interactive reading materials like English songs for kids also get the child engaged in what he or she is learning.  Interactive reading materials get the child to focus since using them is almost like playing.

Color and interactivity are very important in helping the child learn the English language, or any subject for that matter, because they keep the child interested long enough for learning to occur.  With these materials, how to learn English for kids will never be boring again.

How Kids Learn - The Importance of Fun Learning
DATE: 06/13/2008 14:18:17 / MOOD: teaching

Intelligence is a very important thing.  A certain degree of it is always necessary in order to get ahead in the world.  The more intelligent a child is, the more chances he has of having a better future.  And so, it is very important for parents to ensure that their child is gifted with a certain degree of intelligence.  Or, at the very least, the opportunity to maximize the potential he or she has.  More often than not, the task of developing the child’s intelligence is mainly heaped upon a parent’s shoulders.  Schools are there to supplement what a parent has given the child.  But ultimately, whether or not the child will be intelligent will depend on the child himself.

Genes and Intelligence

Most students are having the impression that studying is something boring and tedious.  But there are some who have a natural love for learning, and it is these students are usually categorized as ‘achievers’.  Intelligent children are usually those who have a positive attitude towards learning, especially learning grammar for kids.  And while each child’s potential for intelligence is already predetermined by his genes, how much of that potential the child can use up is influenced by external factors, such as the influence of parents or teachers.

External Factors that Affect Intelligence

First impressions are very important for children.  In much the same way that they first learn that they should stay away from fire by getting scalded by something hot, children, too, create impressions about studying depending on their first experiences.  If the parent presents the idea that to learn English for kids is a responsibility, then the child may view it as such and may shun it in favor of more enjoyable things like playing, for example.  However, if the parent or the teacher presents fun English for kids learning as something fun and enjoyable from the very start, then the child is more likely to have a positive attitude towards it.  And if the child has a positive attitude towards learning English for kids, he will be more receptive towards new information and more willing to learn new things, thus, contributing to his own development and helping him reach his true potential.

Also, if you try to notice, things that interest you usually stay in your head longer than things that you find boring.  If a child has a negative attitude towards learning, then anything that’s presented to him for studying would automatically be classified as ‘boring’ or ‘tedious’.  However, if learning is presented to him as something ‘fun’, then he is more likely to find something he’s really interested in because he won’t be close-minded about the subjects being taught.  Hence, there are games for learning English that parents and teachers can use.  There are also English songs for kids as well as English dictionary for kids that can help as well.  How to learn English for kids should be fun so as to help them grasp the language better.

More often than not, the cheesiest and most generic quotes that you’ve been hearing since you were in kindergarten are the truest and most profound quotes that you’ll ever hear or need in your lifetime.  One such quote is “We achieve more by working together”.  This quote carries with it a universal truth that makes it applicable in every situation we’re in.  It rings true in the most serious of situations like Global Warming and World Peace.  And it also rings true in the simplest of situations – like teaching English for kids.

Use the English Language in Your Daily Conversations

Nothing beats this method in teaching your kid the English language.  Constant exposure to any language facilitates easy assimilation for children.  It works in the same way that we learn our own first languages.  Children who grow up in France usually learn the French language easily and those who are born in the US or the UK grow up to be proficient in English.  Of course, it all depends on your own skill in speaking the language.  If you converse with the child in English that’s proper and refined and encourage him to respond in like manner, then he will surely get the hang of the language in no time.

Incorporate the English Language into Your Games

When you play with your kid, make sure that the games that you’re playing are educational and useful.  Don’t waste your time with mindless games that teach the kid nothing.  There are several games for learning English that aid in the child’s development such as puzzle games, word games and English songs for kids.  Word games, in particular, help in improving the child’s grammar and vocabulary, especially if you use English dictionary for kids.

Include the Child in Your TV Time

Television is not always bad for your children.  Media is actually a great source of learning and information for your child, especially in the use of the English grammar for kids.  Some children learn to speak English by just watching cartoons and other English movies.  So, when you’re watching TV, try to have your kid sit with you.  Not only will he be entertained and happy, but he’ll also be picking up English words and phrases that you might not have taught him.  Of course, you’ll also have to cut down on violent shows which feature profane language.

How to learn English for kids need not be boring, but it could be fun as well!
