Wow! I am glad to have found this site! I am looking forward to communicating with ESL professionals in all parts of the world.
Ihave been teaching ESL for a year now, and I love it. One of the best rewards in life is having a job that you love. The only downside for me is that working with adults ( I work for an intensive ESL program at a state university) is mainly restricted to part-time work, so it has been hard to make ends meet.
I am going to start tutoring a high-school exchange student from Romania, which should be fun. Hmm, perhaps starting my own private-tutoring business would work for me. If anyone has experience as a self-employed ESL tutor, I would love to get your input!

Ibelieve passionate and competent English teachers do make differences in the lives of many. I know how hard it can be to learn a foreign language as an adult because I was one of the ESL students myself (a Korean). Now I am developing a methodology specifically for Koreans who struggle with English – they are notorious for being slow in that matter. I understand the peculiar set of problems they face and what the solutions can be – again, first-hand experience helps.
Anyways, I’d love to get to know you and other ESL professionals.
