Professional Objective: An editorial position in EFL/ESL publishing that will utilize and expand my experience and abilities as a pedagogical consultant, writer and editor.
Education: Bachelor of Education with Honors in EFL, Gordon College, Haifa, Israel 2002
Over 2000 hours of in-service credits in various EFL subjects including linguistics, teaching reading, teaching LD pupils, training as a teacher mentor, backwards design, curriculum design, performance based tasks.
Experience:
Writer and Pedagogical Consultant, October 2004 to present – Writing EFL material for
the Israeli classroom including one coursebook (PALS, 2007, UPP, Raanana), tests and supplemental materials. Editing EFL/ESL educational material for content, pedagogy and marketability from inception to production including working with lay-out designers, production editors, proof-readers. Duties also include interfacing with customers about their pedagogical needs and the quality of the books. Position includes substantial travel.
Pedagogical Consultant, September 1994 to September 2004 – Counseling EFL/ESL teachers on teaching methods and pedagogy including leading staffs in preparing their own materials. Duties included observing teachers in their classrooms and providing constructive feedback, building teachers to be more autonomous, teaching in–service courses on various topics such as heterogeneous teaching, LD pupils, backwards design, performance based tasks, classroom management in large classes.
Special projects: Regional diagnostic tests for 5th and 6th grade pupils.
National summative assessments for 5th grade pupils.
Enrichment curriculum for advanced 6th and 7th grade pupils.
EFL Teacher, September 1985 to September 2004 – Teacher of English as a Foreign Language in Israel to children from grade 1 through grade 12 in a variety of settings including informal after-school classes and intensive high school classes. Taught literature-based proficiency courses to EFL teachers. Participated in a variety of experimental programs offered by the Ministry of Education in Israel including projects in whole language, story-telling as a teaching method and using songs and chants in the classroom.
